children's book again

Another assignment for children's book illustration. I punched up the colors a bit in photoshop, but couldn't find a way to convincingly get rid of that line down the center (which is from scanning the picture in two segments, since it was too big for the scanner bed).

My teacher gave the class a list of pre-existing children's book titles and we had to make an illustration from one of those titles (we couldn't be familiar with the book, though). I chose "How I Became A Pirate." I like how the characters turned out, but not the background. Done in watercolor.
